Welcome to IIIT-Pune family. I congratulate all those who chose IIIT-Pune, an Autonomous Institution of National Importance.
To address the challenges faced by the Indian IT industry and growth of the domestic IT market, the Ministry of Human Resource
Development (MHRD), Government of India intends to establish twenty IIITs, on a Not-for-profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP) basis.
IIIT-Pune is one of these IIITs, set up in 2016 with the objective of making available facilities for higher education, research and
training in various fields related to IT.
IIIT-Pune started functioning from its temporary campus in Sudumbare, Talegaon-Chakan Road, Pune. Its permanent campus is currently
under development at Talegaon, Pune. The campus will come up with state-of-the-art infrastructures and all the necessary modern amenities
while maintaining harmony with the serene environment of Talegaon, Pune. The aim is to build it to be a center of excellence in education
and research in the fields of engineering, science and technology. The vision is to develop it to be an institution vibrant with academic
activities and bubbling with youthful creative energy.
At IIIT-Pune, we are committed to set-up the best possible facilities within the constraints of a temporary campus with limited
available space, build-up a very talented pool of human resource and create an excellent environment for learning and research. We accept
that in order to make significant contributions to the development of the country and to the improvement in quality of life of its citizens,
we will need to pursue a strategy that fosters creativity, supports interdisciplinary research and education. I believe that the Institute
has been able to achieve some success in its endeavor, and will strive hard to assist and support in academic, research and entrepreneurial
I am sure that the contributions of IIIT-Pune fraternity will definitely and significantly help in establishing the institute as an
Enterprise of Knowledge.
I wish very best for all future endeavors meant to foster the Institute.
